Restorative & Deep Tissue Massage – Treatment

To outline the treatment, it begins with a consultation form to find out about you as a whole, your lifestyle, exercise, ability to relax and sleep etc. We also identify any areas to focus the massage on, areas of tension or sensitivity. If you have any injuries, illness or concerns these are addressed at the beginning to ensure the massage is relaxing and rejuvenating for you. All treatments are suited to your preferred pressure, always feel free to request more or less at any point. Massage should not be painful and should be relaxing and releasing the tension, working with the body and muscles so they have time to restore themselves.

60-minute massage – head, neck, shoulder, stomach and back

The massage starts with warming up the skin and relaxing the mind, relieving tension built up in those back strong muscles. Balancing out your shoulders and starting the deeper work into your shoulders which hold most of the tension and release the build-up of stress.

The massage continues on your back and works collectively into your hips and up your spine, activating the area and stimulating the flow of blood, which brings oxygen and nutrients. Muscles can be especially tight in your upper back so the massage focuses on stimulating and stretching these, deeper thumb pad work into your scapular to release knot build up. More massage is brought into your neck and shoulders and relieve the negative tension. The massage ends with the influence of stimulating the body’s healing process and restoring the natural flow of energy.

Take the time to sit for a few minute after the massage, rehydrate and re-centre yourself.

90-minute massage – full body

The massage starts with your head if requested, warming up the skin and relaxing the mind. Following into your neck and relieving tension built up in those strong muscles. Balancing out your shoulders and starting the deep work into your shoulders which hold most of the tension and release the build-up of stress.

We work into your arms and legs to get deeper into the muscles through active and passive movements of the joints. This works to lessen any tension pain and facilitating movement. The fascinating part of this style of massage is to also work on draining your lymph system which improves circulation of any excess tissue and hastening the elimination of waste and toxic debris from your blood stream. This is drained by shallow but firm fluid movements along your lymphatic system, so when the massage feels softer it is for this reason.

The massage continues on your back and works collectively into your hips and up your spine, activating the lower back and stimulating the flow of blood, which brings oxygen and nutrients. Muscles can be especially tight in your upper back so the massage focuses on stimulating and stretching these, deeper thumb/pad work into your scapular to release knot build up. More massage is brought into your neck and shoulders and relieve the negative tension. The massage ends with the influence of stimulating the body’s healing process and restoring the natural flow of energy.
